Necklace Sizing Guide
Getting the length right matters more on a personalized piece — the name or initial should sit exactly where you want it seen, not lost below a neckline or crowding your collarbone.
Standard lengths, explained
| Length | Style | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| 14″ | Collar | Sits high, right at the base of the neck. |
| 16″ | Choker | Right at or just below the collarbone. |
| 18″ | Princess | The most common length — falls just below the collarbone, our most-picked size for personalized pendants. |
| 20–22″ | Matinee | Sits at or just above the neckline, ideal for layering over a higher top. |
| 24″ | Opera | Falls at the breastbone, a longer, more relaxed drop. |
How to find your length at home
- Take a soft measuring tape, a piece of string, or a thin ribbon.
- Wrap it around the base of your neck where you'd normally wear a necklace, letting it fall to roughly where you want the pendant to sit.
- Mark or pinch the point where the ends meet, then measure that length flat against a ruler.
- Round up to the nearest length in the table above — if you land between two, we'd suggest going slightly longer for a more comfortable, everyday fit.
Already own a necklace you love the length of? Lay it flat and measure end to end (not around your neck) — that flat measurement is the length to order.
A note for personalized pieces
Because engraved and nameplate pendants are made to order, we're unable to accept returns or exchanges for length once a personalized piece has shipped — so it's worth taking the extra minute to measure before checkout. If you're between two sizes, our team is happy to help you choose before you order: reach out through our contact page.
